Siskin was purchased by her first owner in July 1991 from the UK Malo agent. She was moored on the South Coast until June 2000 when she was taken in part exchange for a new, larger, Malo. She was purchased from the Malo agent and taken to Millbay marina in Plymouth for the summer months, and kept ashore under her full winter cover during the winter. She clearly enjoyed meticulous care from this owner, and that set the standard for us from 2006 onwards, while we have kept her in Chichester Harbour. We, husband and wife both over 70, have cruised her along the South Coast and particularly in the Chichester and Solent areas.Shes taken us to the North Coast of France, and weve much enjoyed cruising the Channel Islands and nearby coasts and harbours.A group of Malos get together most years for a friendly meal, with all happy owners knowing theyve chosen the best boat possible.Siskin is a real delight to sail. She is very light on the helm, very manoeuvrable under sail or engine and satisfying in strong winds. The deep and very sheltered cockpit always feels reassuringly safe and comfortable. As you can see, she runs downwind with the rig goosewinged and is unusually stable. In lighter air (but up to about force 4 if you like) the cruising chute is splendid. She motors astern under good control, and sailing in the often crowded Chichester Harbour holds no fears for novice friends sailing with us on a day trip. The skipper stays relaxed too!We have been delighted with Siskin, and very proud to own her.
