COMMERICAL WORK BOAT
DIVE – EXPLORE –MINI TANKER - FUEL SALES
CONTAINER & CARGO – FISHING RESORT – SURVEY
FLOATING CLASSROOM – RESEARCH VESSEL
This vessel was a live bait tuna boat that was later converted into a trawler. As part of the Government buy-back program she can no longer be used in the commercial fishing trades. She can however be used in a commercial or recreational use that you can dream up. She is still fit and safe and is receiving upgrades daily. These renovations will affect her value, so to get her for the least possible number of dollars, buy now. The owner can assist you with any renovations you might wish professionally done for any use you may have. She was originally built in 1973 as a tuna boat by the Reynolds Co. in Southern California. She is tried & True and been tested. She will take you anyplace on the globe that you wish to go.
Her main engine is a Cummins KTA1150 that is keel cooled. Detroit 3-71’s power 2 genset with Lima alternators, 40 KW each. She has (2) 500 gallon main fuel tanks, (3) 1,000 gallon stern tanks, (4) former RSW tanks that are 1,500 gallons each that if used for fuel would bring your fuel load to 10,000 gallons.
She was designed with the weight of her machinery well forward like sardine or tuna seiners to allow for heavy aft fish & ice hold weight. This is good as it allows for heavy aft winches, cranes, gantry’s, knucleboom, submersible crane, She is equipped with a heavy duty hydraulic system with several hydraulic pumps and plumbing to run whatever application you can dream up.
She makes an honest 12 knots, and runs like a clock. She would make an excellent live-aboard boat. She has two rooms topside, the Captains stateroom has two berths, hanging locker, dresser drawers, with a separate chartroom and half bath. There are 9 berths on the main deck, 6 in one stateroom, 3 in the passageway berthing area, a large head with a shower. Her galley is separated from the mess table. Two utility rooms were created when the trawler winches were installed and the port & starboard breezeways were enclosed. They could easily be converted to staterooms, laundry rooms, research & survey equipment room, etc.
At present she is a tough useful ship that a new owner could tailor to his own use. Build a salvage boat, treasure hunter, exploration vessel, dive boat, bo-tel vessel, off shore towing, mini fuel tanker, island cargo & mail boat, oil spill recovery, survey vessel, submersible tender, marine construction, freighter, or just a real neat trawler. The owner is willing to assist in any alterations that you may want done at a fair price. We realize that this is a project boat, but the end product can be quite special at a fraction of the new-build cost. Save yourself a fortune. Make me an offer.
